Sebastian Jarl secured a vital point for Vålerenga Fotball with a late equaliser against Fredrikstad at Intility Arena. The match finished 1-1 after the visitors had taken the lead in the second half.
Fredrikstad went ahead in the 52nd minute when Solomon Owusu found the net following an assist from Samuel Holm. Vålerenga responded with increased pressure and were rewarded in the 76th minute. Lucas Janus Ravn-Haren set up Sebastian Jarl, who fired home the 1-1 equaliser to the relief of the home support.
The match took a decisive turn when Fredrikstad defender Isak Helstad Amundsen was shown a red card in the 82nd minute. Vålerenga pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but Fredrikstad goalkeeper Mats Børsheim stood firm. The Oslo side had 16 shots to their opponent's nine, but only three were on target.
