Vålerenga Fotball has issued clear guidelines for supporters travelling to Åråsen for Saturday's derby. The club, in cooperation with police, has established a comprehensive security plan for the second city derby against Lillestrøm this year.

Security measures and access

The police in Romerike and Lillestrøm SK have planned a relatively high security profile for the fixture. Segregation will be in place outside the stadium before, during, and after the match. Organised supporter transport via Lillestrøm town centre and Storgata is prohibited, and Storgata will be closed. Standard security screening will be conducted at the entrances, with fencing and channelling used as in previous matches. Vålerenga supporters have exclusive access to entrances 1 and 2. Gates open 1.5 hours before kick-off, and fans are advised not to arrive late to avoid queues. Those arriving 30-40 minutes before kick-off may not reach their seats in time.

Transport and parking

There is limited parking for private cars at and near Åråsen. Travel by bus is strongly encouraged. All buses must travel via Skedsmovollen and Leirsund before continuing on Rolv Olsens vei to the roundabout at the stadium. Buses will drop off directly in front of the entrance, where police and security will assist with receiving and unloading. After unloading, buses will be sent to park on Rolv Olsens vei, with a guard presence. Bus information and departure times can be found on individual bus companies' social media channels.

Appeals and warnings

Supporters are urged to be considerate of others and to respect the smoking ban in the stands. Designated smoking areas will be set up in the usual location at half-time. Vålerenga will provide its own stewards, and fans can seek assistance from the SLO or KST during the event. The club warns of strict action against any attempts at pitch invasion or entering the inner field. Such attempts will result in immediate removal and police reports. Due to poor past experiences, extra measures will be taken to prevent this, and sanction regulations will be applied. Vålerenga supporters and sympathisers are urged to comply.

Match context

The fixture against Lillestrøm is one of the country's coolest football derbies, along with the matches at Intility Arena. The team enters the match following a defeat to Lillestrøm last weekend, losing 2-0 away with goals from Ruben Gabrielsen and Thomas Lehne Olsen. Their recent form over five matches shows zero wins, two draws, and three defeats. See also who is available in the squad, where Magnus Sjøeng and Fredrik Amundsen Ambina are currently sidelined with injury. Those without a ticket are advised to watch the match with other Vålerenga supporters at venues like Carls, O'Learys, ØST, Bohemen, or Vålerenga Vertshus.
