Vålerenga Fotball has sacked head coach Geir Bakke after seven league matches with poor results. The club has started working on finding his replacement. Geir Bakke was appointed as head coach of Vålerenga in the summer of 2023 and was in his fourth season. He has been in Enga in two periods, from 2000 to 2005 and from June 2023 to May 2026. In the first period, there was a national championship, a silver medal in the league, and a gold medal in the league. In both periods, the starting point has been to find a clear direction from a challenging starting point that the club has been in. The job is to create a healthy performance culture where everyone understands their role so that the team and the entire club can move in the same direction with enthusiasm, respect, and understanding of the interaction between departments from sports to the boardroom.
