Vålerenga Fotball is seeking a loan of three million kroner from the supporter group Klanen. The club needs to replace the artificial turf at Intility Arena and lacks sufficient funds to cover the expenses. Stephan Gundersen, acting CEO of Vålerenga Fotball, says that the club is facing liquidity challenges and must borrow money to pay for the artificial turf. Klanen has called an extraordinary general meeting to discuss the loan application. Sebastian Hytten, spokesperson for Klanen, says that this is the first time the club has applied for a loan from the supporter group. Vålerenga Fotball owns 100 percent of Vålerenga Stadion AS, which is responsible for the operation of Intility Arena. The club had budgeted for a surplus of around 3.58 million kroner in 2025, but ended with a deficit of just over 5.55 million kroner. Gundersen says that they have several alternatives if the money from Klanen does not come through, including borrowing money from a bank or another partner.
