Vålerenga Fotball was formed on July 29, 1913. The club has a natural place in Norwegian football history with five league titles and four cup championships. But Vålerenga Fotball is more than just a football club.

What happened in 1995?

In 1995, brown forces in the Klan appeared with 'white power' on T-shirts during the match against Brann in Bergen. This was a serious problem for the club and the local community.

How did the club react?

The club reacted quickly and decisively against racism. We who sat in Vålerenga Fotball's junior board in the second half of the 1990s could not accept the development we saw in parts of the Klan in 1995.

What is the result?

Today, we can see that Vålerenga Fotball has a large and inclusive supporter group. The club has worked hard to prevent racism and has had great success with this. | Year | Number of players from other countries | | --- | --- | | 1995 | 50 | | 2000 | 70 | | 2010 | 100 |

What's next?

Vålerenga Fotball will continue to work to prevent racism and include all players and supporters regardless of skin color and religion. The club will also continue to be a part of the local community and work to make the neighborhood a good place to live and play football.
